Mustang runners head to regionals

Laurel and Jones County will be well represented in the regional 4A track meet today at Wilkinson County. The South State meet takes place April 28 at Gulfport.

Mustang runners head to Marcus Pierce qualifield for the high jump and long jump. Marco Arrington qualified in the 400-meter dash and Dexter Brown qualified in the 100-meter run. The 4x400 meter relay team of Marco Arrington, Marcus Pierce, Darrell Barnett and Marcus Barnes also qualifield.
 
Kristin Bridges and Miranda Wheeler qualified in the 100-meter dash. Bridges and Marissa Hathorne qualified in the 200-meter dash. Leslie Howard and Kenyetta Flowers qualified in the 400-meter dash. Hathorne qualified in the triple jump. Shoniqua Jones qualified in the 100-meter hurdles.

Bridges, Jones, Jalisa Wheeler and Miranda Wheeler qualified in the 4x100 meter relay and Flowers, Miranda Wheeler, Howard and Hathorne qualified in the 4x400 meter relay.
