Lady Mustangs blank NE Jones

The West Jones Lady Mustangs defeated Northeast Jones 8-0 in prep softball Thursday.

Winning pitcher Katie Holifield struck out 14, walked two and allowed four hits. She also doubled and had two RBIs.

Brandy Sumrall tripled twice for West Jones, while Britnay Anderson had three hits. Rebekah Langley doubled and singled, while Bridget Anderson and Elisha Ray each doubled. Kalli Dickerson, Genny Freeman and Kayla James each had a hit.

The Lady Mustangs are now 8-5 overall and 4-0 in district play.

In junior varsity action, West Jones won over NEJ, 7-5.
