Former Mustang Blake Sherman takes two State Championships in Tennis at JCJC

 Blake Sherman of Laurel recently competed in the State/Regional Junior College Tennis Tournament held in Meridian. Sherman, a former West Jones High School standout, swept through the draw without dropping a set in singles and doubles, where he paired with Scott Truesdale of Meridian. To claim the singles championship, Sherman defeated Mark Taylor of Itawamba, 6-0, 6-1. Sherman/Truesdale defeated Alford/Busby of Itawamba to take the doubles championship. Blake is a freshman at Meridian Community College and will be competing in the National Junior College Athletic Association tennis championships next week in Plano, Texas
